  title Let's make bread

Well, I know that you that there are great bread machines out there, and ready-made bread mixtures you buy at the supermarket also taste good. But homemade bread is amazingly tasty!

Below you’ll find an easy recipe for homemade bread. Give it a try with your parents’ help! Meanwhile watch this video about bread and flour.

A story of bread and flour

Kitchen utensils you'll need: Mixing bowl, baking pan, wooden knife.

Ingredients: 200 g wheat flour, 300 g wholegrain flour, 1 tbsp salt, about 400 ml water, 10 g fresh yeast. For sprinkling: sunflower seeds, poppy seeds or sesame seeds.

Baking directions:
1. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and knead the mixture for about 10 min. (until it gets smooth).
2. Cover with a cloth, and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 40 min. at room temperature.
3. Place the dough in a greased baking pan, and use a knife to make some cuttings on the upper side. Sprinkle with the topping of your choice.
4. Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and bake for about 45 min.

Advice: ask for an adult’s help when using the oven.

Don't forget to wash your hands carefully before starting cooking, and leave the kitchen in the same condition as you found it.

Enjoy your bread!
