title of the text on plants

Generally speaking, the word plants refer to the Plants Kingdom also known as Plantae Kingdom, the largest group of living things on Earth. EThis group has more than 400,000 known species, and comprises flowers and trees, shrubs, herbs, hays, green algae, ferns, conifers, mosses. Red and brown algae, and fungui are excluded from this group.

Plants produce their own food, reproduce, but are not able to move around on their own. Most (but not all) plants are green and are part of our ecosystem.

Plants are made up of three main parts

- The stem supports the plant above the ground, and carries the water and minerals to the leaves. The stem also supports the leaves, the flowers, and the fruits. The stem can grow straight, crawl along the ground, or climb over walls and fences. There are plants that can have one or more stems.

- The roots anchor the plant in the ground and absorb water and minerals from the soil.

- The leaves make food for the plant through an amazing process called photosynthesis. Photosynthesis starts when chlorophyll absorbs energy from sunlight. Chlorophyll is the natural compound present in the plants, in particular in the leaves that gives them their green colour.

Angiosperms and gymnosperms

The main difference between the two groups is the fact that angiosperms produce roots, stem, seed, leaves, flowers, and fruit, while gymnosperms do not produce flowers or fruits..

Did you know that...

certain trees live at the edge of lakes and ponds?
One of these trees is the willow, whose branches give us wood to make baskets and other wicker objects.
